Basically a certain # of African countries decided to sell off their tribe memebers for a price, and that is the most inhumane act imaginable in today's society.. but at the time, the value of human life was NOTHING like it is today... hence slavery was born...
Slavery in theory is a horrible concept... before the 1800's, slavery was NOT a horrible concept, but it was a reality. 99.99% of all wealth owned by 1.00% of the population, and basically without a free market economy, people we basically on their own.
I hate the fact that it happened... but as a species in the 21st century... we are neophytes... we will in fact see that the United States, African American will actually BENEFIT in the long run. It is very sad to say in present time (in the next 200 years) but because of the mass exodus, certain african americans will actually see a 1000000% better life than if they continued to reside in Africa from 1800 to 2100.
I am about the least racist white boy you will find... but until we all come to peace with the reality of the situation, and truly understand WHY the African governments of the time sold many young Africans to businessmen in the US, we will all think of racism as an awful bi-product of our society...
It is so difficult to understand the reality and the history that is happening when you are right in the middle of the forest while it is happening... I hope everyone will wake up and realize that this short time we are on earth is for learning and understanding about societal differences... and I think its amazing how much difference people (me included) have in the race relations and integration.
Integration is a stupid term only because the ANTONYM is Segregation... why the hell does there have to be both? Someday we can all live the Hollywood dream and live in utopia... but until that happens, we must face reality, and educate ourselves.
I kind of forgot what my point was... but I would never judge a person's ability based on his skin color, eye color, height, weight or any other physical charateristic when it comes to any task at hand.
